A review of Old Palace School by Margaret Egan (nee Pepperell) written on Wednesday 24th of June 2015

I did SO enjoy my school days at the Old Palace. It is strange to me that I was not very good at History in class but I always thrilled to the fact that I was actually in a building that had such a great history. My first classroom was the Queen Elizabeth Room and that was a great introduction for me (!). I chose the desk by the oriel window which looked out onto the stone walkway and my imagination saw young princesses, way back, walking on those very stones. That was in 1948. I was a student during the war years. When the air raid sirens sounded we would all stand up in our classrooms and go in orderly fashion along designated routes to the "Dungeons" where our studies would continue and there was usually a tin of biscuits to pass around!

My name is Margaret Pepperell.actually, Egan now.and I live in Canada. I have tried to get in touch with girls of my "era" at the Old Palace but, so far, no luck, so maybe this will nudge someone to get in touch with me. My email address is below.

Best wishes to all..
